Many years ago, when I was just starting my career, I was working with Bob Proctor and attending his seminars. After a seminar ended, most people would run to the pool to relax, while I would go up to my hotel room and make sales calls. I took the work way more seriously than most of my peers did.
In business, you’re responsible for everything. You must be able to identify opportunities and know how to build off of them. You must take your skill level to a place that’s above and beyond what anyone else is willing to do, so that you become irreplaceable. Most people don’t take this responsibility seriously enough.
People want to live an extraordinary life—but they don’t want to do what it takes to get there. Yet they’ll BS themselves into thinking they’ve done the work.

I sold to a cop who was about to give me a ticket. I sold on Christmas day. I even sold to Steph Tuss (who’s now my CEO) in the elevator. I had to prove to myself that I could it, so that I could lead others to do the same.
