Life is an interesting thing, and the idea that it can change in an instant is very often something we don’t stop to give a second look. A person can die, a person can walk out of our life, a business can change, a friendship can change, relationships with your parents or children can change.
I recently revisited a great book by Joan Didion called, The Year of Magical Thinking. I found out about it a number of years ago and on a whim decided to go through it again. The premise of the book is the author suddenly loses her husband to a heart attack right in front of her and what that was like to go through firsthand. We are witnesses to her various stages of grief and how difficult it was to get past this sudden loss.
How does one deal with something of this scope? How do we handle life changing in an instant?
